About

Dr. Daniel has extensive experience and expertise in Correctional Mental Health and Correctional Psychiatry.

He served as Director of Psychiatric Services by contract for the Missouri Department of Corrections between May 2000 and June 2007. In this capacity, he directed and managed psychiatric services for over 25,000 offenders in 21 correctional centers. Also, during part of this period, he was directly involved in mental health services including crisis intervention, group and individual therapy, suicide risk assessment and all aspects of multidisciplinary treatment of mentally ill offenders.

Services

Dr. Daniel is a known expert in Suicide Risk and Suicide Prevention in Jails and Prisons.

Dr. Daniel continues to serve as an expert consultant and provides testimony in over 20 suicide related litigations. 
He was a member of the Taskforce under International Association of Suicide Prevention (IASP). The Taskforce recently updated the WHO Resource Guide and presented at international and national conferences on suicide prevention strategies.
